The Hobbies Conversation Game ignites lively conversation and debate around the topic of hobbies. Inspired by cognitive stimulation therapy for dementia, this game challenges players to share differences, commonalities, and opinions across well-recognized hobbies. Are walking and fishing both forms of exercise? Are they both outdoor activities? We’ve also thrown in some more interesting hobbies simply to get tongues wagging. Taxidermy anyone?
Relish conversation games have been designed and researched alongside people in the early to mid-stages of dementia. Every design detail is carefully considered; both the tiles and the large dice are easy to handle. The idea of using cognitive associations is to discover more about the thoughts and opinions of those around you, whilst stimulating the mind. Our chosen hobbies form an important part of our identity and in discussing the activities that bring joy to the lives of people with dementia, we encourage connection with family and friends.
