Intro

Love shouting words at the TV show Countdown? Then this game is right up your street. Simply ask each player to pick 6 Scrabble tiles and spend the next 5 or 10 minutes coming up with as many words as they can. The longer the words are the better!

This is a competitive game that’s great for a group or 1-on-1

What you need

  1. Scrabble tiles (large, if possible)
  2. Pen
  3. Paper

The Activity

  1. Sit everyone around a table
  2. Give each player a pen and paper
  3. Put the tiles face down on the table
  4. Ask each player to choose their 6 letters and lay them in front of them
  5. Tell the group they’ve got a set amount of time (5 or 10 minutes should be enough) to write down as many words as they can using their letters
  6. Once the time is up, invite each person to share their words with the group – the winner is the one with the most!
  7. Play again if the group fancies it, but don’t forget to shuffle the tiles
