Intro
Got a grey wall somewhere that needs jazzing up? Then this fun art activity is just the antidote. The idea is to make fish out of foil so you create a beautiful piece of wall art – over one or more sessions. And the closer to the window you place it, the more lovely it looks as the sun glints off it. We recommend doing this as a group activity, but it works just as well one-on-one.
What you need
- An extra large poster board (thick card works too)
- Brightly coloured foiled paper, cut up into rough 1-2 cm squares
- Suggested fish shapes in 5 parts (download resource)
- Glue and spreaders
The Activity
- Draw some outlines of various fish onto the board (you can do it yourself or with your artists)
- Take the foiled paper and tear it into 1-2 cm squared pieces
- Decorate each part of the fish in a different combination of colours
- Glue each piece of foil one by one, layering it slightly each time
- Continue on over a few sessions until the fish is complete
- Display somewhere so that is can be enjoyed and admired by all who pass by this
