Intro

Got 10 minutes to spare and fancy a bit of fun? All you need is a pen, a whiteboard and a handful of people to bring this game to life with some guesswork. It’s a bit like hangman but all the words have 4 letters and the first 2 remain the same in every round.

So the answers might begin with CR __ __ but the clues could range from “a baby sleeps in it” to “a large black bird”. Can you guess the 2 right answers?

Top tip

Want to make the game more challenging? Easy – just make the words longer.

The Activity

  1. On the board, write the first 2 letters in a column
  2. Ask the first question to the group
  3. Fill in the last two letters for each question
  4. Continue until all clues have been answered
