Intro

Quizzes are fantastic for encouraging people to use their cognitive skills in a fun way.  This activity can get competitive at times, but reassure people that it doesn’t matter if they get the answers wrong. It’s all about getting the grey matter working!

This History quiz could be a toughie, but will still know some answers and those you don’t, you can learn something new.

Play the quiz just for fun – or keep score and award the winner with a small prize.  The quiz is available as a question sheet, in case anyone would like to do the quiz on their own first. Then you can share the answers with them afterwards.

The Activity

  1. Gather the group together or sit with the person if one to one, or give the person the questions sheet if they would like to do this on their own
  2. Either read the question aloud to the group or each person in turn
  3. Ask them to guess what the answer might be, some may be well known, some may need lots of guesses
  4. Congratulate every answer, even if it’s wrong, as every attempt is a good brain workout
  5. If you’re playing competitively, keep scores and award the winner a small prize
  6. Spend time at the end, and enjoy talking about anything from the quiz that has peaked some interest and memories
