Christmas Garden Decorations

What you need

  1. A box full of baubles
  2. A rake and broom
  3. Bin bags

Intro

As tempting as it is to stay warm indoors over Christmas, it’s great to encourage people to get outside for a little fresh air and limb stretching.

This activity is two fold – one element is tidying up the garden, to keep it looking nice over winter. And the other is adorning the trees and bushes with festive decorations, to create some yuletide cheer!

This is a physical activity, so make sure people are able enough to take part – and wrap up warm.

Top tip

Keep hands warm and spirits high as you work, with a delicious cup of hot chocolate or mulled wine!

The Activity

  1. Make your way to the garden, wrapped up nice and warm
  2. Encourage the person/group to sweep up the leaves and debris from pathways
  3. Rake up the leaves from the grassed areas and flower beds
  4. Once the garden is tidier, everyone can begin to decorate it
  5. Give each person a few baubles at a time and let them adorn whichever trees and bushes they like
  6. Once your box of baubles is empty, step back to admire your work
