What you need

  1. “What works for you” quiz- download resource - then print it off and cut the job roles into flashcards
  2. Flipchart
  3. Paper and pens

Intro

A fisherman wouldn’t be able do their job with a chisel, and a carpenter wouldn’t be able to do their job with a net! This activity invites you to pick the right tool for a variety of jobs. It’s a nice little activity to do 1-on-1 or in a group when you have a spare 30 minutes

Top tip

Playing at exploratory level? Just reduce the amount of jobs and tools

The Activity

  1. Gather the group together or sit with the person if doing a 1-on-1
  2. Write all the “tool” words on the flip chart
  3. Show the first “job” flashcard
  4. Ask everyone to choose the tool that’s right for that job
  5. Discuss how this person would use the tool at work
  6. Strike through the right “tool” answer then show the next flashcard
  7. Keep going until you’ve used up all the cards
