  1. Movie Number Quiz - download resource
  2. Small prize for the winner (optional)

Intro

Quizzes are fantastic for encouraging people to use their cognitive skills in a fun way.  This activity can get competitive at times, but reassure people that it doesn’t matter if they get the answers wrong. It’s all about getting the grey matter working!

The aim of the game is to guess the name of the film with a number in the title.  The name is there minus the number, there are handy little clues to help along the way too.

Play the quiz just for fun – or keep score and award the winner with a small prize.  The quiz is available as a question sheet, in case anyone would like to do the quiz on their own first. Then you can share the answers with them afterwards.

Top tip

If doing the activity as a group, It may help to write the movie titles (minus the number) on a board, looking at the title visually could help reach the answers easier for the group

The Activity

  1. Gather the group together or sit with the person if one to one, or give the person the questions sheet if they would like to do this on their own
  2. Either read the questions aloud to the group or each person in turn
  3. Ask them to guess what the answer might be
  4. Congratulate every answer, even if it’s wrong, as every attempt is a good brain workout
  5. If you’re playing competitively, keep scores and award the winner a small prize
  6. Go back to any of the movies and spend time chatting and reminiscing about when they watched the movie and what they liked or didn’t like about it
