Intro
Nothing says summer more than a dollop of sweet, rich ice cream. This fun, hands-on activity gets people involved in making their own colourful sundae, with scrumptious sauces, marshmallows and sprinkles to boot. Once everyone’s got creative – and maybe a little sticky – it’s time to head to the garden to tuck in before it all melts (fingers crossed for lots of sunshine!)
This activity can be enjoyed one-on-one, or in a small group.
What you need
- Selection of different flavoured ice creams
- Squirty cream
- Fruits, such as bananas, strawberries and kiwis
- Toppings, like marshmallows, chocolate drops, sprinkles and fudge pieces
- Sauces, such as chocolate, strawberry, raspberry or toffee
- Wafers
- Ice cream sundae glasses, if you have them
The Activity
- Invite each person to choose which flavour ice creams they fancy
- Encourage them to put a scoop or 2 into their glass
- Ask them to add a variety of fruit on top
- Get them to squirt some cream on top, and give them a hand, if they need it
- Encourage them to have fun sprinkling on the colourful toppings
- Drizzle over some sauce and finish with a wafer
- Ta dah! Now help everyone to the garden (if it’s sunny) to eat
