Intro

We're going to ask some fascinating and unusual questions about amazing things in the World. These are things you might or might not know. It's a chance to learn something new and perhaps even surprising. Discuss them at the end and share what you think. It's a fun way to spend some time together. A quick quiz for a filler before mealtimes. One to one or a small group can participate with this one.

The Activity

  1. Gather the group together or sit with the person if it's a one-on-one activity. 
  2. Read aloud the questions below to the person/group or take turns for each person to read:

  • c.Which boxer was known as “The Greatest”?
  • A.Muhammed Ali
  • d.Which famous artist painted the Sunflowers?

  • e.What is the largest animal ever in the World?
  • A.The Blue Whale
  • f.Who is the most famous person in the world?
  • A. Can be anybody the person chooses, often the answer given is The Queen
  • g.Which infamous ship set sail from Southampton in 1912 and was hit by an iceberg and sank?
  • A.The Titanic
  • h.Which famous scientist discovered the law of gravity?
  • A.Sir Isaac Newton
  • i.Which mythical King had Knights and a Round Table?
  • A.King Arthur
  • j.What is the largest country in the World?
  • A.Russia

3. Encourage everyone to guess the answer.

4. If anyone is struggling, offer some prompts to help.

5. Celebrate every answer, as each attempt is a valuable brain exercise.

6. If playing competitively, keep score and award a small prize to the winner.

7. At the end of the quiz (or during, you choose) you can chat about some of the amazing things you never knew.
