OUR STORY

Designed to bring joy to life with dementia

It all started in 2008 when Ben, Relish CEO, tried to find something he could do with his grandad as he progressed through the latter stages of Alzheimer’s Disease.

He struggled to find anything that could suit his grandad’s changing abilities, while being appropriate for adults. So he made a puzzle.

His grandpa loved the puzzle so much he made another, and then another. Relish grew from there, researching, refining, and developing activities that are truly right for people with dementia.

Since the start of Relish, or Active Minds as we were known then, there has been a growing awareness of the importance of focusing on wellbeing

We believe that the best joy comes from time spent together – smiles, laughs, shared successes, casual chitchat, play, and mutual understanding.

Our mission is to help improve the overall wellbeing of people with dementia by providing fun, meaningful activities that help build their relationships with their family, friends and caregivers.

Passion for wellbeing

At Relish, wellbeing is our top priority for both people with dementia – and their caregivers. It’s what drives the thinking behind everything we create. We’ve divided wellbeing into eight key pillars (think of them as benefits), which each have a purpose.
