Intro
We’ve all played Snap in our lives, but some might find it a little frantic. This game moves at a slower pace but the concept is still the same – match your cards with the one on the table and get rid of them as quickly as possible!
It’s easy to whip up when you have a spare 10 minutes, as all you need is a standard pack of cards.
What you need
- 1 pack of large-print playing cards
- Small prize (optional)
The Activity
- Sit everyone at the table
- Remove one suit of cards from the pack, such as all the hearts, and put aside (the dealer will use it in a moment)
- Shuffle and deal the rest of the cards between the players
- Get the dealer to take the single suit of cards and put the first one onto the table for all to see
- Ask the players to look at their cards and see if they have one or more with the same value (e.g. if the dealer puts down a 2, anyone with a 2 should put it down too)
- If someone has more than one matching card, they can put them down together (e.g. if they have more than one 2, they can get rid of 2 or 3 cards in one go)
- Get the dealer to keep putting new cards down and the players to keep putting theirs on top
- The first person to get rid of all their cards is the winner! Award them a small prize if you wish
- Play another game if people are keen to try and win on the next round
