Intro
Ever fantasised about being someone else? Maybe a superhero catching villains, a detective solving mysteries – or even a bank robber! Write a short story with you as the main character. You don’t have to write much, a page or less is perfect. And remember, the fun is being whoever you want to be!
What you need
- Pen
- Paper
- Character suggestions (some ideas in the activity)
The Activity
- Help the person to choose the character they would like to be
- Make some suggestions, if they’re struggling
- You could suggest, Alice in Wonderland, Superhero, Detective, Spy, Bank Robber, Fairy, An animal in a Zoo, Spaceman/Woman, A child or a Magician to name a few
- Encourage the person to think about what could happen to their character, and the escapades, mischief or adventures they could go on
- Let the person begin to write their story
- Offer some help along the way, if they wish
- See if the person would like to read their finished story to you and others
