Intro

A tactile sensory wall is a lovely addition to a home. Its bright colours and intriguing textures will delight the eyes and intrigue the hands of anyone passing by. But before anyone can enjoy it, there’s a lot of fun to be had in the making! So first gather folk together who fancy getting crafty and get busy cutting, gluing and being creative.

What you need

  2. Various textured/bright coloured materials
    Velvet
    Fur
    Flocked Wallpaper
    Sponge
    Flannel
    Hessian
    Velcro
    Leaves
    Duster
    Foam
    Feathers
    Crumpled Foil
    Silk
    Straws
    Pom Poms
    Bubble
    Wrap
    Ribbons
    Carpet 
  3. Large strong board (90cm x 90cm)
  4. Glue
  5. Scissors

The Activity

  1. Cut the card into 15cm by 15cm squares
  2. Take a texture, cut to size and stick it to the square, trimming away any excess
  3. Take the squares and glue them in rows of 6 to the strong board
  4. Place the squares in a random pattern
  5. Hang the textured board on a communal area where people can walk past an enjoy it!
