Intro

Test your festive knowledge while giving your brain a jolly good workout with this Christmas cracker of a crossword! It's a great one to do alone – or with friends, as Xmas is all about sharing and socialising.

This activity easily slots into other festive plans and will bring a little calm to a time that’s often a bit hectic.

What you need

Extra-large sheet of paper (A1 is a good) - or a whiteboard
Pencils, black marker pen and eraser - or whiteboard pens
Long ruler

The Activity

Draw the crossword grid on the paper or whiteboard using the ruler, making it large enough so everyone can see from a distance
Gather the small group or person around the crossword, making sure everyone can see it clearly
Read out the first question and encourage everyone to come up with answers
Invite each person to come up and write their answer on the grid (if they're able to)
Or if someone would like to do the crossword on their own, print it out and they can do it at their leisure
