What you need

  1. Audio plays and stories – CDs or downloads
  2. Headphones (optional)

Intro

We all tune in to the latest TV shows, but listening to a good play or story can be just as entertaining, and you only need to pop down to your local library to find good audiobooks. Even better? Download a podcast on your phone. Lots will feature famous names, so the familiarity of the voice can bring comfort to your listeners – and it’s a great solo or group activity. You could even get 1 or 2 people together to listen? It means they can stop and pause the story if they want to discuss a plot twist!

The Activity

  1. Invite your listener (or group of listeners) to sit in a quiet area, free of passing distractions (if this isn’t possible, you can always give them headphones)
  2. Ask each person what they’d like to listen to and when they’re ready, start the audio
  3. Let them sit back and enjoy their story for as long as they’d like! Easy
