We have all seen the heartbreaking reality of dementia – but what if we could create something that could improve the daily life of those living with dementia? That's what we set out to do when we launched the Day Range – a range of dementia clocks designed with our community in mind.

Through an extensive research process with people living with dementia, we have created the Day Hub with Task Alerts and Day Connect that aim to improve their daily wellbeing and provide an additional layer of comfort for both people living with dementia and their families.

In this article, you will learn about our journey to create the Day Range and the impact the product can have on those living with dementia. We will also discuss how our collaborative approach not only seeks to improve the products we create, but the wellbeing of both those living with dementia and their families.

Our designers worked closely with members of our community to understand what they need to help them through their dementia journey.

“For those affected by dementia, it can be hard to keep track of medications, meals, hygiene, and even time. To address this challenge, we developed a product to help individuals maintain a healthy and regular routine. Through research, we spoke with people living with dementia, their carers, and loved ones to gain an insight into the day-to-day realities and impacts of the disease. We found that providing assistance with orientation of day and time could help to alleviate many of the difficulties experienced.

We thoroughly considered their needs, ensuring all details of the product had purpose. Our aim was to advance existing behaviors, not change them. The end result is a product that provides encouragement for people with dementia to maintain a healthy and regular routine, making it easier for them and their loved ones.” Kiah Robinson, Relish Designer. Losing the ability to track the time of day, is something that many of us take for granted, our hope with the Day Range is that it will allow people to take back control of their life at a time when many parts of them are changing.

"As the founder of Relish, my passion lies in embracing the unique challenges faced by individuals living with dementia. Through a deep understanding of their needs and experiences, we create solutions that empower people to live fulfilling lives. Our vision is that life with dementia will be lived with purpose, joy and independence.

We have witnessed first-hand the impact of dementia on individuals and their caregivers, and it is our driving force to redefine the dementia care experience.

That's why we are excited to introduce our latest innovation, the Day Hub with Task Alerts. This ground-breaking product aims to empower individuals living with dementia to preserve their independence and provide peace of mind for their families. By providing customised alerts for essential daily tasks, people can live with autonomy and reassurance.

The Day Hub with Task Alerts is designed to revolutionise the way we approach dementia care. It's about enabling individuals to live their lives to the fullest.

Together, we can create a future where a dementia diagnosis is not the end, but can be a life filled with fulfilment, happiness, and meaningful experiences. Join us on this journey as we work towards enhancing the wellbeing and quality of life for all individuals living with dementia and their caregivers." - Ben Atkinson-Wills, Founder & CEO of Relish.
